Update on Adopt-A-Legislator in Oregon

With the 2017 sessions off and running in Salem, there was no better way to kick off to the new season in our state than with prayer!  We wish to thank all Connectors and Praying People who are praying or have reached out to pray for a legislator.  We would like to encourage you to reach out to your legislator and offer prayer support like  Sunny Lemming in Region 5, Klamath Falls, did last month.  She made contact with state Representative  E. Werner Reschke, Oregon Legislature, District 56, and was delighted to receive a prompt reply from his office.

To her offer of prayer support, his chief of staff Gin Reschke replied, “Thank you for contacting Representative Reschke and getting involved in the political process. Rep. Reschke is glad to hear from constituents in District 56 and strives to serve faithfully in public office. Thank you for bringing awareness to Pray Oregon and choosing Rep. Reschke as your Legislator for prayer. Thank you for your weekly diligence to pray for Rep. Reschke at the King of Glory House of Prayer. He stands firm for life, liberty and Christian values among a state legislature of liberals. He stands for Right to Life. Please feel free to come by our office when you visit Salem. I would be happy to greet you and schedule a meeting with Rep. Reschke. We appreciate your prayers for his public service and family.  Sincerely, Gin Reschke, Chief of Staff – State Representative E. Werner Reschke.”

Dottie Swartz, Josephine County reports, “Peter Carlson has asked us to begin nurturing a relationship with our three legislators from this area, namely Dwayne Stark, Carl Wilson, and Herman Baertschinger.  Herman is a Senator, the other two are Representatives. I have asked a couple to cultivate those relationships so we can pray for them and the needs their job may require, as God is raising up the Ecclesia in the earth.   We want to make sure that our local as well as our National leaders are covered.  We feel our number 1 mandate is to keep our Cabinet members covered in prayer – each of them and their families.  I am attempting with others on our team to stay informed as we go forward to watch (and pray) for national concerns.

It is the guideline of  Adopt A Legislator and Pray Oregon to support all those who are governing in Oregon, regardless of their political views. We are praying for all of our district and state representatives, asking the Lord to bring order, justice, mercy and His goodness to Oregon and these lawmakers.
