National Day of prayer

Mission: Mobilizing Unified Public Prayer for America

About the National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer tradition predates the founding of the United States of America, evidenced by the Continental Congress’ proclamation in 1775 setting aside a day of prayer. In 1952, Congress established an annual day of prayer and, in 1988, that law was amended, designating the National Day of Prayer as the first Thursday in May. The next National Day of Prayer is May 7, 2026.

your city is key!

This year it is critical that we come together in Oregon to pray. Let us pour out pour out to the God of hope and be filled (Rom. 15:13). We also need to preserve our freedom to pray publicly. Mrs. Shirley Dobson, NDP chairman emeritus, reminded us: “We have lost many of our freedoms in America because we have been asleep. I feel if we do not become involved and support the annual National Day of Prayer, we could end up forfeiting this freedom, too.”

Please join us as we prepare for this momentous day of prayer in Oregon.
