A Prayer for My Adult Children:

Shared by Cindy Gelowicz

“Father God, I come before you today with a heart full of love for my adult children.

I lift them up to you, acknowledging that they are individuals with their own thoughts,

feelings, and desires, and that they are ultimately under your care and guidance.

I pray that you would draw them to yourself, Father, as you say in your Word that

no one can come to you unless you draw them. Open their eyes to the truth of the

Gospel, that they would see their need for a savior and turn to Jesus Christ for

forgiveness and new life. May they experience the joy of salvation and the peace

that surpasses all understanding.

I pray that their hearts would be receptive to your Word, that they would hunger and

thirst for righteousness, and that they would be transformed by the renewing of their

minds. Give them wisdom and discernment, that they may know your will and walk

in your ways.

Protect them from the evil one, Father, and from the snares of this world.

Shield them from temptation and guide them away from harm. May they be filled with

your Holy Spirit, empowered to live lives that are pleasing to you and that bring glory

to your name.

I also pray for their relationships, that they would be surrounded by godly influences

and that their love for you would grow stronger through these connections. Grant them

wisdom in choosing life partners and bless their future with a love that honors you.

Lord, I trust in your timing and your perfect plan for their lives. I know that you love them

even more than I do, and I thank you for your faithfulness. May they come to know you

intimately and experience the fullness of life that you offer.

Lord, I stand on your word for my children which says:

for I will contend with him who contends with you and I will save your children.

I will pour my spirit onto your descendants and my blessings on your offspring.

All your children shall be taught of the Lord and great shall be the peace of your children.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.”
